Mercito GestaUndefeated Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta who showed a sensational knockout Saturday over Jorge Pimentel of Mexico City will be heading for a world title fight on the yet unscheduled rematch of Miquel Cotto and Antonio Margarito before the close of this year.

HOT POTATO via Home Depot Center, CARSON, California – “He (Gesta) wants to fight anybody. But what we’re gonna to do is give him a fight … may be on Top Rank Live Show on Fox within the next six weeks and then get him ready to fight a world title on the Cotto-Margarito fight,” said Top Rank promoter Robert “Bob” Arum during the post-fight press conference.

Gesta said, “I want to fight anybody. And that includes Brandon Rios.”

“It’s all up to Bob Arum. He knows what we want to promote Mercito (Gesta),” said Vincent Parra, enterprising manager of Gesta who also trains the rising Filipino star.

In his last fight, Gesta dropped Pimentel in round 1, 2 and 3 and referee Carlos Caiz, Jr. raised his right hand to stop the fight via technical knockout in round 3.

Gesta improves with 22 wins, zero loss and 1 draw.
