Interview by: UFC.com “I want us to put on a fight for the fans where they walk away from it and say that watching that fight made this card worth it.” – Travis Browne If Kaleo, 4, and his younger brother Keawe, 3, were asked, what does their dad do for a living? Their dad says their response would be, “To them, daddy is a superhero and he goes and beats up the bad guys.” While not entirely correct, one could see how they might get that impression, as their father is the 6-7, 250 pound recent “Knockout of the…

By Gareth Davies Special to ESPN.com Some fights merit greater attention than two men attempting to prove their physical and mental superiority in a combat arena. Victory there is sweet, but transient. Some fights are about life itself. Just ask anyone from the projects of South Philadelphia. Dominick Cruz, the UFC bantamweight champion, and Charlie Brenneman, a fast-rising welterweight contender, were chauffeured into Wilson Park Apartments Complex on Friday morning to sample life inside a different cage. They were preaching from the fight gospel, and the message was heard by some 150 teenagers. There is a shooting in these local-authority…

Two years is a long time in sports. New stars can emerge, old ones can fade into obscurity and the sport can change altogether. Two years is also the amount of time that Mike Easton has spent away from professional fighting. It’s been quite a ride for the fighter. Easton has been a staple in Northeast promotions…

The first bantamweight title fight in UFC history did not disappoint, as Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber battled inside the Octagon for 25 minutes and put on a show, with Cruz taking home a unanimous decision and retaining his bantamweight belt. “I’ve got to say, Urijah — man, that dude hits hard,” Cruz said after the fight. “He hits hard, his hands move fast. … Thank you, God.” Both 135-pounders have unorthodox styles, and the clash of those styles was a sight to behold: They both moved around the Octagon like waterbugs, taking strange angles, clashing together and then pulling…

Dominick Cruz is itching to show UFC fans what 135ers are all about… and to silence Urijah Faber. If I am totally honest, I’m probably the least well-known of the seven champions right now. Part of that is because my fight on July 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is actually the first bantamweight title…
