Fresh off his gutsy bout with Gilbert Melendez, UFC veteran Diego Sanchez now has a new foe in front of him, as it was just revealed he’s set to take on undefeated prospect Myles “Fury†Jury at UFC 171 this March.
The fight was announced this morning on the UFC’s official news Twitter, and should excite both fans of Sanchez, as well as those who were clamoring to see Jury tested against stiff competition. Diego Sanchez (24-6) and Myles Jury (13-0) will meet for the first time in their careers come this March, and will certainly be one of the more intriguing fights on the card in the hearts and minds of fans.
While Sanchez is likely still enjoying the Fight of The Night bonus award for his bout with Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, Jury has received his own awards as of late. Jury received his BJJ black belt only a few days ago under coach Don Richard. At only 25-years-old, Jury has developed his skills at a rapid pace both inside and outside of the octagon, and it will certainly be interesting to find out where he stands in a fight with the established Sanchez.
UFC 171 will take place at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas on March 15th, and will feature a headline bout between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and top contender Glover Teixeira. Also announced for the card is a welterweight scrap between Jake Shields and Hector Lombard.
